Mount Falcon Park- Castle Trail

The gorgeous Mount Falcon Park located in Morrison CO. just South of the Red Rocks Amphitheater. We chose to start on the east entrance to Castle Trail which leads to historic ruins of a once standing castle home built in 1909 by John B. Walker, whom is also known for launching many projects in the Denver area which are in use and impact lives of the people in Denver today. Sadly, in 1918 lightning struck the Walker Home and burned it down, leaving behind ruins of a once 10 bedroom house.

According to my GPS, the total round trip was 6.11 miles to the Castle ruins and back, which took nearly 3 hours including stops. Total elevation gain 1,718 ft up a rocky slopped, and rugged mountain.
Great hike for people who are looking to train for 14ers, as the accent is a fairly strenuous one.
Enjoy amazing views from high vantage points looking out into Denver and the metro area.
