Cliff Palace in Mesa Verde. The sites in the National Park date back to AD 600-1300, where ancestral Pueblo people made their homes. The park has 600 cliff dwellings in total, however only 5 are accessible.
Great Sand Dunes National Park
Located in the San Luis Valley, the Sand Dunes which are 30 miles long and over 750 ft tall are the tallest sand dunes in North America. The streams erode the sand downstream, the water evaporates exposing the sand on the surface, while the wind picks up and blows the sand right back on the dune field again. Ultimately recycling the sand in a beautiful process.
